This photograph shows the method of erecting new steel girders and strengthening of the bridge. It shows the temporary timber piers in the middle of the large openings to assist in carrying the additional weight of the new girders until the same were completely riveted up. This photograph shows the erection of the new Pratt girders by means of a travelling gantry. (Description supplied with photograph.)
