Horse and Cart in Orchard

Being winter the horse and cart was used to prune the tops of trees instead of going up and down a ladder on a very regular basis. note how high the tree are. Modern orchards have a much different approach to the establishment of orchards with trees being kept shorter and planted much closer together in rows. the old method was to space trees 20 ft x 20 ft making cultivation easy in any direction.
