Artesian bore at Leichhardt Station, 1895

Water tanks on horse drawn drays are being filled at the artesian bore and then transported to other watering points on the station. The artesian bore was at an altitude of 875 feet above sea level and a depth of 2,488 feet. This bore was yeilding per 24 hours 300,000 gallons under a pressure of 60 pounds per square inch.
