Craven heavy lift crane removing an "S truck" from the rail line. The derailment was caused by a wool bale partially falling out of an S truck after the train had passed through Mt. Kuring-gai station. As the train entered the platform area at Mt. Colah, the bale became jammed between the train and the platform, forcing the S truck to tip over. It took several other wagons with it, bringing down the overhead wiring and support structures.
