The Fisher River in central Tasmania starts below Forty Lakes Peak at an elevation of 1240m and ends at an elevation of 385m merging with the Mersey River.
The Fisher River drops around 855m over its 29.3km length.
The Fisher River flows through Lake Mackenzie (1114m) and flows into Lake Parangana (385m) on its way to joining the Mersey River.
The following creeks and rivers flow into the Fisher River: Little Fisher River, Yeates Creek, Gun Lagoon Creek and Snake Creek.
