The Katherine River in the north of the Northern Territory starts at an elevation of 451m and ends at an elevation of 67.6m merging with the Daly River.

The Katherine River drops around 384m over its 328km length.

The Katherine River flows through Ngartiuk Billabongs (207m) on its way to joining the Daly River.

15 creeks and rivers flow into the Katherine River. The five longest tributaries are: King River, Seventeen Mile Creek, Limestone Creek, Snowdrop Creek and Gimbat Creek - click here for a full list of all 15 tributaries of the Katherine River.
