You'll find the locality of Liawenee on the Lake Highway high up in the mountains in central Tasmania. Nearby mountains include Split Rock (1305m), Headlam Hill (1289m), Rats Castle (1374m), McDowall Hill (1209m) and Willow Run Hill (1122m). Liawenee is about 120km north-northwest of Hobart (show me). At about 1058m above sea level, Liawenee is the twelth highest locality in Tasmania. The nearest ocean is the Southern Ocean about 100km west-southwest of Liawenee.

Liawenee is just off the River Ouse.

The nearest more populous place is the village of Bracknell which is 35km away with a population of around 360 (show me a map with Liawenee and Bracknell).
