Chinchilla is located on the Warrego Highway in southeast Queensland a distance of about 250km west-northwest from Brisbane (show me). With a population of around 3,400, Chinchilla is a medium sized town for Australia. Chinchilla is at an altitude of about 303m above sea level. The nearest sea is the Coral Sea which is part of the South Pacific Ocean about 240km east of Chinchilla.

Chinchilla is on the Charleys Creek.

The nearest more populous place is the town of Dalby which is 80km away with a population of around 9,700 (show me a map with Chinchilla and Dalby).

Chinchilla is on the intersection of the Warrego Highway and the Chinchilla Wondai Road.
