If so, Report it |  | 2 - Former Fortitude Valley State School (Contributed by: rayjoe43 4 pictures ) Opened in 1867 as a new purpose-built two-storey school for infants, boys and girls to replace the former 'barn' which was rented near the corner of Ann and Brunswick streets; the site is now occupied by the 'RG' or Royal George hotel. It later became a school for infants and girls and even much later for girls only until its closure in 1949.
