Westbury is located in north Tasmania and has a population of around 1,900 (48.1% male, 51.9% female). Around 560 families live in the area and of those 35.7% have one or more children under the age of 15. 14.3% of families have only a single parent while 47.0% of couples have no children. Westbury covers an area of approximately 5509 hectares or around 55 square kilometres (km2) (13614 acres).
