Reef Point is one of the hottest places in Australia. It experiences exceptionally high overnight temperatures. Daytime temperatures, wind speed, rainfall, humidity levels and numbers of cloudy days are above average. Numbers of clear days are below average.

Reef Point has a wet and a dry season. The wet season in Reef Point begins around November and ends around May. Over the course of the wet season, Reef Point receives around 1261mm of rain. By comparison, in the dry season from June to October, less than 50.4mm of rain falls in total. At the height of the wet season in January it rains on average 17.2 days in that one month. Indeed, Reef Point has experienced as much as 286mm in a single April day. The wettest month on record is February with 758.5mm of rain falling.

Temperatures in the wet season average between 30.9 and 33.1OC during the day and 23.5 and 26.1OC overnight. Temperatures in the dry season average between 29.5 and 32.5OC during the day and 20.7 and 24.5OC at night.
