Caption: 'The foreground is the Lands Office (this building still stands, and now is occupied by the Commissioner for Railways and the Tourist Bureau [sic]). Then in sequence are the cottage occupied by - Murphy (caretaker of the Lands Office); Strickland, baker: Duramboi's crockery shop; J. Gray, bootmaker; and (at the corner of George and Queen Streets) Dr Hugh Bell's residence with observation tower.
