If so, Report it |  | 3 - Concrete pylons being erected for the first permanent Victoria Bridge, Brisbane, ca. 1869 (Contributed by: QldPics) Begun in 1864, the first permanent bridge was not completed until 1874, mainly owing to financial difficulties. A temporary wooden bridge was opened for traffic in 1865, but partly collapsed on 16 November 1867. By 1869, most of the temporary structure had fallen into the river.
