Cotter River Picnic Area - ACT

contributed by Ausgirl, taken on 26 January 2004
    (contact Ausgirl about this picture)

Cotter is a very popular picnic and recreation area in the ACT situated beside the Cotter River, below the Cotter Dam. The area was destroyed during the 2003 firestorm and had to be closed to allow the area to be rebuilt.

It was finally reopened again just over 12 months later on Australia Day 2004 with heaps of family events staged for the occasion.
