Cliffy Island Lighthouse Family's of lighthouse keepers

My father was a lighthouse keeper on Cliffy from 1949 to 1951.

There was 3 families living on the Island.

My sister and myself did our schooling by correspondence.

My father was a lighthouse keepeer there for 3 years.

The mail boat come out from Port Albert every 2 weeks with fresh food and mail which was always a great event the boat was often delayed by bad weather,there was always a good supply of food on hand to cater for delays.

Every 3 months the lighthouse supply ship Cape York would bring in bulk supplies of food,fuel,coal (used for our stove to cook on.)

It was a very windy on the island often experiencing gale force winds.

I have some nice memories of Cliffy and would like to go back and visit the island though from some of the recent photo's I have seen there doesn't appear to be many buildings left.
