Our trip to Yerranderie (12 June 1979)

I went to Yerranderie in 1979. One of my first trips in a 4wd owned and driven by my father-in-law. My father in law John was taken to Yerranderie when he was a boy. He told us he travelled for days in a horse and cart. I don't remember how we got there but he came from the Picton end before the dam. I remember going through a stone tunnel on the the road and the dirt road was pretty good.

I remember thinking how great it would be to own a town so all our friends could come and live on our town. Funny how things seem important when you are 19 years old. Great drive in the country.
